Dr. Suresh Sharma is originally from the village of Kalyana, post office and tehsil Ghumarwin, district Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh. He completed his primary education at the Government Higher Secondary School in Ghumarwin, followed by his undergraduate education at the Government College in Bilaspur. From his school and college days, he was nurtured, educated, and refined by his teachers and mentors in activities such as singing, drama, and writing. Dr. Suresh Sharma obtained his M.A. and M.Phil. degrees in music (vocals) with a gold medal from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. Continuously active in music, teaching, and research, Suresh Sharma earned his Ph.D. from the same university at the age of fifty-six.

Music, drama, acting, and writing have been his favorite subjects. He regularly writes on various topics in different newspapers and magazines. He is a classical singer, and also performs songs, ghazals, bhajans, and folk music at various events. He is an accredited artist with All India Radio and Doordarshan. Stage hosting and acting are also among his favorite areas. He is invited as a keynote speaker, resource person, chief guest, and chairperson at various symposiums, seminars, discussions, debates, and training workshops. After teaching for many years at Government College Palampur, College of Teacher Education Dharamshala, and Nagrota Bagwan, Dr. Sharma is currently serving as an associate professor of music (vocals) at Government College Ghumarwin.

Dr. Sharma's students are not only excelling in music but also serving in education, administration, the military, police service, banking, social service, and other fields. Dr. Sharma continues to raise social awareness through music, education, and writing. He is a dedicated and committed teacher. He has been honored with numerous awards by various educational, cultural, literary, musical, and social organizations.
